Application: The annual Prices of Scientific Research

The range of possibilities of the different senses of the child can be promoted by activities that have an impact on the development of the brain and the emergence of cognitive functions.

The aim of these scientific research prizes is to reward, within the framework of a French non-profit organisation, a scientific work that has contributed to a better understanding of the conditions of mono- or multi-sensory developement in early childhood and its later consequences. Studies on animal models are allowed.

Admission requirements and procedures

The aim of these prizes, with a 1st price worth €2,500, and a 2nd prize €1,500 is to reward original researches leading to a publication (article or thesis) in the field of the sensory development of children under four years of age, in particular in the field of multi-sensoriality. These research activities: realization, scientific publication… will have been carried out within the framework of a non-profit structure (association law 1901, public laboratories…). The Prizes will be awarded to this structure.
Fill in the application form and send it to contact@5senses4kids.org before midnight on October 10th 2024, enclosing the requested attachments (published article or thesis). Applications are only accepted online.

Upon receipt, the files will be examined by the Selection Committee, which may contact the candidates for further information.
The Selection Committee will pay particular attention to the originality and innovative nature of the published works.

After reviewing all the entries, the Selection Committee will decide on the winning works. All applicants will be informed of the decision by e-mail. No complaints will be taken into consideration after the deliberations of the Selection Committee
The Annual Scientific Research Awards of the 5 senses for kids Foundation in partnership with the Society for Neuroscience will be presented to the representatives of the winning organisations at an official award ceremony on November 21st 2024. This date may be modified by the Board of Directors of “5 senses for kids Foundation”. 5 senses for kids Foundation and the Society for Neuroscience shall not be held responsible in case of force majeure or unforeseen circumstances beyond its control that would prevent the organisation of the award ceremony.

During this event, the representatives of the winning organisations will be received by the members of the Selection Committee and by the Founder of “5 senses for kids Foundation”. Other people may also be invited: patrons, donors, journalists, etc

This prize of 2,500 euros and the prize of 1,500 euros cannot be contested in any way by the winners.
The representatives of the winning organisations accept without reservation the conditions of this document in its entirety as well as the legal notices of the “5 senses for kids Foundation” website.

The representatives of the winning organisations accept :

  1. to participate in person at the award ceremony and to take part free of charge in the promotion of the Prize through photos, interviews or films.
  2. to make their best efforts to participate, free of charge, at the request of “5 senses for kids Foundation”, in any event, public relations operation or journalistic solicitation.
  3. to authorize “5 senses for kids Foundation” and the Society for Neuroscience, as well as its patrons, to use his or her image free of charge in the context of
    1. the communication of “5 senses for kids Foundation” and the Society for Neuroscience
    2. and/or its action and/or the communication around the Prize and/or the communication around the representative(s) of the winning structure
    3. and/or the communication carried out by the patrons of the “5 senses for kids Foundation” (according to the conditions of the Patronage agreements).
    4. and in the framework of press, digital, audio and/or audiovisual information for a period of 5 (five) years from their participation in the Prize, for exploitation (including representation, reproduction and adaptation of these elements) in whole or in part, in all countries of the world on all media, including but not limited to the entire Internet network (in downloadable or non downloadable version, on all websites including the website of “5 senses for kids Foundation” and the Society for Neuroscience; community sites, platforms and social networks); communication tools of “5 senses for kids Foundation” and the Society for Neuroscience, in particular programmes or brochures; during “5 senses for kids Foundation” and the Society for Neuroscience events; in all types of magazines, newspapers, journals or other media for journalistic information, and this by all means, all vectors, and in all formats
