It can even be difficult for them to find the time to enjoy time with their children.<br><br>Through the workshops we offer, we want to provide spaces and moments where parents and children can create quality moments that they can also reproduce at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image container\" id=\"block-74f202c5-ba7c-4c97-bd36-5dd1442d39f3\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/5senses4kids.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image-1.png\" alt=\"L\u2019attribut alt de cette image est vide, son nom de fichier est image-1.png.\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-f0635e4c-f8dd-4fe5-8fd6-c6a35e22861a\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading container has-text-color has-link-color has-large-font-size wp-elements-859881ea37dad22ad11468bdb40d7d9e\" id=\"block-32b1c987-2374-431f-8383-6a92dcf25982\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">Project objectives<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-c502fb20cc720df0404417dc98ed2228\" id=\"block-441154eb-00c1-46b0-ac0c-19241125393d\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">The aim is to enable the families taking part in the workshops to create, establish and renew quality time together, and to ensure that they leave with information, practical tools, advice and knowledge about well-being. A communication through the senses, which will strengthen the links once they are at home.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-c129dea4fc7af8aa8c429949294846e7\" id=\"block-ce8ef503-26de-4fa1-aad9-91b26641e3fa\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong>The &#8220;N\u00e9(e)_sens&#8221; workshops<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-bb5bae2a0cdacacaf53ffd2c3cfd1a44\" id=\"block-c59301c3-5c02-4650-9313-a11f7f58082a\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">. The aim of the &#8220;N\u00e9(e)_sens&#8221; workshops is to stimulate the senses of touch and smell, to introduce young and old alike to the culture of well-being and the olfactory domain.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-d44dd1d9f460363b3ea1d17ecb05a871\" id=\"block-bc808fb1-cd6c-4bed-a6c6-6617aae6b17a\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">. The sense of touch, combined with a moment of comfort and cocooning, will be the focus of a workshop where massage will forge links to (re)discover each other as a family, redefining the unique bond that links children to their parents.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-5f253ebe504f40046f6af3c497697d7f\" id=\"block-22157e86-f36c-4024-b3fc-d4ab718ad9cf\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">. Participants will be invited to create family moments where the senses define the quality of the time spent together and recall the encounter of the first day of &#8230; birth. All this under the watchful eye and guidance of a family well-being professional, trained in naturopathy and massage therapy. This professional will lead, train and pass on meaningful massage techniques.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image container\" id=\"block-f4449d65-bdfd-4cce-93f1-1d10666f7679\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/5senses4kids.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/image.png\" alt=\"L\u2019attribut alt de cette image est vide, son nom de fichier est image.png.\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-5e4f4dc824f2b460fb828bb1a7e5c5e5\" id=\"block-7e363220-1ddd-4be6-b90e-4842770cf748\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong>The &#8220;Nez_sens&#8221; workshop<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-8213f578bbb34efd8786b7c42bbab07a\" id=\"block-1fde36a3-c0ba-4a14-88fd-2db1a00489e9\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">The second &#8220;Nez_sens&#8221; workshop will involve the sense of smell, inviting each child to explore the different <strong>smells<\/strong> in their environment (at home, outdoors) with the aim of identifying, guessing and naming them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-e414e3299b0045a103d278489827283f\" id=\"block-ca37b787-56db-4619-94e4-e7c226e91e1e\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">This workshop develops other psycho-cognitive and psycho-social skills such as :<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-2bd1d769cf97ae3bd38deeb1ec4d1359\" id=\"block-57724633-e1fd-40a2-9843-0a7aacb5e790\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">curiosity, concentration, memory, attention and, ultimately, language, because each child will then have to communicate by formalising the discovery of the smell, and sharing what it evokes in them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-99feeff5e247b455b55eba90652c5cde\" id=\"block-caf05c1c-7027-4ed5-9c77-35e202e32ddd\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">The fun &#8220;nose-sense&#8221; workshop is a way for children to get to know themselves and their environment through their sense of smell.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-893e0ce1-1188-4897-9951-d80322e1b5fc\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-image container\" id=\"block-b4e268df-dc3b-45d7-94b1-9d93bf6a4f1f\"><img decoding=\"async\" src=\"https:\/\/5senses4kids.org\/wp-content\/uploads\/2025\/02\/Fanta-1-768x1024.jpg\" alt=\"L\u2019attribut alt de cette image est vide, son nom de fichier est Fanta-1-768x1024.jpg.\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-43041759-a6dc-4c12-b53d-02dfd4f37741\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"block-689d03e7-9461-48c2-a393-671235c3d625\"><strong> <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading container has-text-color has-link-color has-large-font-size wp-elements-6810bed0c7b2cd856e783e6a957210d2\" id=\"block-c7583893-9280-4bc6-93a6-db40b152ad76\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">Impacts<\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-983eaf7f2aeb97d442722e393ef2d543\" id=\"block-7749f195-633f-4a02-888b-204b8b311473\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">This project will run from January to June 2025. Each workshop is made up of 6 children and one accompanying parent.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-c592fdfb6862d85b1572d16fc0019811\" id=\"block-05acfa1e-24c0-4a1d-8170-ab71e3527439\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">A satisfaction questionnaire is administered at the end of each workshop to measure the impact of the massages (&#8220;What do you feel?&#8221; workshop) and the child&#8217;s ability to appreciate the power of the olfactory sense (&#8220;What do you smell?&#8221; workshop).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-0e25caba0375a108c500d959c4859709\" id=\"block-328dc540-8e91-48d1-8ff2-a50fcca51936\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong>There are three distinct categories that are measured by feedback from parents and children in family interaction:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-fd99203954f9e67ce1304b30797657b4\" id=\"block-1f33e530-be6a-4709-9861-bb1c1a1fdd2f\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong><u>Olfactory impact<\/u>: <\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-2230b25b9435227337497e47944a5c7b\" id=\"block-d1b38bd2-b2c5-40a7-8056-2eb70e717bd3\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong>Post-workshop follow-up with a questionnaire sent to parents to measure changes in the development of the children&#8217;s sense of smell one month after the workshop and to determine whether the child is :<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-690bd3a8dfd542c7f397b5e8a4ea0214\" id=\"block-cbd3f2bf-cffa-4ef6-a80c-c01a165afe50\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">More sensitive to smells?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-17cb8d93094f0114bdfba417772a1c23\" id=\"block-76aaddfc-7360-43c3-8f1f-0b6a9e449a8a\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">Are children better able to <strong>identify places in the home or in their<\/strong> <strong>immediate environment<\/strong> (school, classroom)?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-ea20e0f3444b1e44726844144a7aa2f3\" id=\"block-6537453e-6d5f-4357-b485-e6c6b4d6298f\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">Do children develop an <strong>olfactory awareness <\/strong>with greater curiosity? Are they more attracted to the olfactory component of their environment? Do they have a sharper sense of smell?<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-1b59554378b87da177a0f5a37bd4eb84\" id=\"block-3fc8f571-9e60-4e9c-b2a8-c3a1de72f058\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">Identify the places and times when the olfactory sense can be called upon: nature (park, forest, family garden), on holiday (sea or countryside), a season (summer rain), a moment of pleasure (e.g. the smell of a Christmas tree, gingerbread, cakes, jam).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-77f770237b8a5ed8d2e138c36890a178\" id=\"block-c73ebe73-7924-41cd-85eb-71ed481078b3\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong><u>Memory impact :<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-572fe37112b0e36e769a09fc960007e4\" id=\"block-fb0353a4-db19-40a5-861c-dc2296c6be1f\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong>Associating smells with memory<\/strong> and <strong>creating memories through smells<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-60ef3a84383ef71e6c9ba01a0cfeb482\" id=\"block-a3c29d55-f398-45fb-9c03-cff9d2dbb575\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong><u>Create a scent notebook <\/u><\/strong>write in a notebook what a smell reminds us of (a family member, a place, a moment, a season).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-aa68a55cfd12288091a1e4b83ae383dd\" id=\"block-c0e8f89d-87c4-4b73-8e0b-18184722f2ff\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">Example of an activity to <strong>collect smells <\/strong>: stick a leaf from a tree in the notebook, <strong>associating the smell of the leaf with where it comes from<\/strong> (the forest in this example).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-603169765d0e0dc7b20755ee33a77369\" id=\"block-78de4b88-8263-423a-87a2-3b13c9c4daba\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">Play this game with different objects, <strong>using the smell to recall<\/strong> <strong>a place, and<\/strong> therefore indirectly to create <strong>a family memory.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-b3329943e0d48658e9bc70286aaafeb3\" id=\"block-20cb0651-0bd2-4427-9550-5c848482693b\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong><u>Emotional impact :<\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-b931756f521e28dbf8d2acfa88062567\" id=\"block-c4baab0a-9a7c-4fe8-82c3-ae81d8129aff\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong>Measure how odours can arouse and\/or be linked to an emotion.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-e1eee2603d6d6b620bf5560e445e9d5f\" id=\"block-9c9e29ff-2b97-438e-a6e5-5b864f81cd4d\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">The olfactory sense is all the more worth measuring because it can also be linked to danger (the smell of burning) or warn us of a problem (expired food that is no longer fit to eat).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-fd8f2f07055a34445e877b84d14c5c19\" id=\"block-d8bf48f9-3316-4e8a-8cd4-28e669f58312\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">For example: we can feel fear when we smell something burning, and we feel joy and\/or a sense of security when we smell a cuddly toy, or the scent of mum or dad.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-5719628522b492bec370782db24ea85d\" id=\"block-0c0da18a-fd8d-4f5a-bb41-e32f91f156ad\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong>Example of an activity that can be measured<\/strong>: write down or formalise orally all the <strong>emotions<\/strong> we feel <strong>when we smell a scent,<\/strong> <strong>analyse the reaction<\/strong> to this scent (caution, affection, etc.).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-9f7f59f4b3b6221316585546325b5823\" id=\"block-500c0e96-340e-4f80-8685-a64899b5f62c\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\">Smells are the common thread that connects children&#8217;s family and social interactions with their socio-cultural environment, and they play a part in the development of their emotional intelligence.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p id=\"block-cf34f702-73f1-4f65-8d2a-b033c2ed16f4\"><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"container has-text-color has-link-color has-medium-font-size wp-elements-e2e400f8816c45c898153747248e5b1d\" style=\"color:#3c7a95\"><strong><em>Strengthening the parent-child bond<\/em><\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul id=\"block-17caea0f-e8de-4c24-9f5d-ee941f5fc151\"
